Boston and Chelsea
Residents of Boston Housing Authority and Chelsea Housing Authority properties have two Zipcars reserved just for you! Enjoy residents-only access and a discounted rate.
Quincy and Framingham
Drivers enrolled in programs like SNAP, MassHealth, CCFA, and WIC are qualified for a discounted rate for these cars. Not enrolled in a program like that? No problem. You can use these cars at the regular rate.

In as few as 3 business days, you'll receive an e-mail confirming your eligibility with a link to sign-up for Zipcar.
When approved, you're all set – you never have to do this again.
Book your car
Open the Zipcar app, pick the car and time you need, and book it for a round trip. Reservations must be made for a set period in advance.
Unlock, drive, and return
Use the Zipcar app to unlock the car. Drive where you need to go, and return it to the same spot when you are done.

ABOUT THIS PILOT
A first of its kind partnership for cleaner, accessible, affordable transportation.
With funding from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council partnered with the Boston and Chelsea Housing Authorities and the cities of Framingham and Quincy to pilot solar powered charging stations paired with an electric vehicle carshare program.
Expand access to clean, electric transportation while ensuring communities across the Boston region can benefit from the EV transition while supporting healthier, more sustainable neighborhoods.
